artist`s biography
NIYAZ HAJIMAGHSOODYNiyaz Hajimaghsoody (b. 1983, Yazd, Iran) is an Iranian visual artist based in Alanya, Turkey. Her works form a poetic connection between nature and dreams, where reality and imagination merge to express love, spirituality, and harmony. Through delicate layers of watercolor and ink, she creates vibrant compositions filled with birds and flowers — symbols of life, peace, and emotional freedom.
From early childhood, Niyaz was deeply fascinated by colors and forms, teaching herself to paint with oil colors long before learning about professional tools or artistic movements. Despite her passion for art, she pursued academic studies in Mathematics and Physics in high school and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from the Faculty of Art and Architecture in Tehran. She worked for several years as an industrial designer but always felt drawn back to painting — her true calling.
During her pregnancy, she left her job to follow her artistic path, creating her first body of work titled “Angels of Love”, drawn with conte pencil. This series was exhibited in her first solo show in Tehran in 2014, marking the beginning of her professional art career. To enhance her technical skills, she later attended specialized art courses and participated in several group exhibitions in Tehran and Alanya.
After moving to Turkey in 2019, Niyaz fully dedicated herself to art. She began creating hand-painted fabrics and decorative artworks, combining design sensibility with artistic expression. Alongside her textile art, she developed her distinctive watercolor style — a blend of realism, miniature detailing, and surreal poetic imagery.
Her paintings are deeply inspired by her inner reflections on existence, creation, and the unseen harmony of nature. For her, love is both the question and the answer — the essence that gives meaning to all forms of life. In her world, birds with colorful feathers give life to the earth, and flowers whisper the message of love and peace. Through her art, she invites viewers to see the world as she feels it — a place where reality dances with dreams and everything begins and ends in love.
